God teaches

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing” (Psalm 143:10, NLT).

Christians spend a lot of time and energy wondering if they are in the will of God, how to do his will, or what his will is for their lives. The one is unique who hasn’t had questions regarding decisions with long term effects.

God doesn’t want us to worry about his will for us or to flounder around, always anxious and unsettled. He has given us his Spirit, who teaches and leads us in the will of the Father. He is the ultimate teacher, who really cares if we learn, how we learn and what we do with what we’ve learned. May we all be good students and eager followers of his gracious Spirit.

  1. When I think about this concept I think about my children. When they were little they knew what our (mom and dad) will was. As they lived in our home however, they never fret about whether they were living in it, because they knew by experience, that if there was something they were or weren’t doing outside of our will, we would simply tell them. They weren’t always looking over their shoulder wondering when the other “shoe” might fall, because they knew we loved them and that we were far more concerned that they were enjoying their lives in our home.

When I think of God and “me”, that’s how I see Him. He loves me. He wants me to be happy. If I am doing some “outside” of His will, something that will hurt me or take away some of my happiness in Him, He’s big enough to let me know. So like a little girl, I live my life happily knowing that I am living in His will. . because if any point I am not, He will tell me.
