“I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels” (Isaiah 61:10, NLT).

The clothing industry is one of the biggest businesses in the world. From the manufacture of cloth, to designing and sewing, to marketing and selling, clothing the world employs a lot of people and takes a lot of energy. Whether we like it or not, how we dress projects an image (accurate or not) of who we are.
When we become new creatures in Christ, we are given a new set of clothing, more wonderful than any we have ever worn before. God himself clothes us with salvation and a robe of righteousness—the righteousness of Christ, which we share through the working of the Holy Spirit within us. The clothing we receive from God projects a new image, Christ’s image in us. We can never go wrong when we are dressed by God—it will never go out of style.
Thanks Tammy! There are two things here, nakedness and clothing.
In the Garden Adam and Eve were naked, no problem, they walked with God, their (our) Father. He sees all. Then, “we” decided for ourselves what is right and what is wrong — apart from God, who dwells in Eternity. A “new awareness” came, judgment on our part (for us) … and it was apart from the eternal judgment of God our Father.
Our sins proclaim to us that we need “clothing”! Our selfish ways have denigrated us into the lowest level … and we say, as the profligate son said: “I am not worthy to be your son, do with me as you please!”
But our Father has understanding and compassion. He sees us “ahead” … coming to Him (Lk.15:20)! His compassion is overwhelming! We are accepted in His sight!
We all have done so many wrong things! There is none who is righteous, we have all sinned and done many wrong things. Is there forgiveness? Is there a Redeemer? Thanks be to God Above, our small and selfish and evil lives are redeemed — so that we, the very children of God, can live!
Clothing is given to us, white clothing! Our past sins are forgiven, gone! And now, we can stand (in humility) as the Holy Angels of God do. We throw our “crowns” before Him and give praise and glory to God Most High! Surely, He is our Life!
