“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” (Hebrews 4:16, NLT).
At most big sports, music and political events, the general public isn’t allowed into certain areas of the arenas. To get behind the scenes, to the stage and inner rooms, a person needs a pass. Only a certain few are issued all access passes, which allows them to go anywhere they want. These people must be thoroughly vetted before receiving this special privilege.
By contrast, anyone can go to God, anytime, anywhere, no pass or vetting needed. Belief isn’t even required, as God hears all prayers and looks on the heart rather than at any other criteria. We don’t know how many prayers begun with “I don’t know if you’re there God, but…” have been answered. When it comes to the pleas for help from his children, God gives access, mercy and grace to all.
